Border Patrol agents violently arrested Santa Ana landscaper and father of 3 US Marines outside IHOP
On June 21, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents confronted Narciso Barranco, a 49-year-old undocumented landscaper with no criminal record, while he worked outside an IHOP restaurant in Santa Ana, California, tackling him and repeatedly striking him in the head and neck before taking him into custody. Barranco is the father of three U.S. Marines; DHS said he swung a weed trimmer at an agent and resisted commands, while video of the arrest shows no such attack.
