ICE agent drew and pointed gun on bystander distributing immigration-lawyer cards in Virginia parking lot

On August 10, 2026, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent drew and pointed a handgun at Carolina Molina, a U.S. citizen and licensed professional counselor, in a parking lot at the Rock Spring Professional Center in Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia (carrying a Falls Church mailing address), after she shouted at ICE agents who were arresting two men nearby. Dashcam and cellphone video Molina shared shows her driving past the agents and yelling profanities before turning her car around; two unmarked SUVs then boxed in her vehicle, and a masked agent approached her driver's-side window with his gun already drawn, accusing her of trying to run over officers and warning "I will arrest you. Keep it up!" as she continued to talk back and record him. Molina, who said she was in the area to drop off business cards for immigration lawyers offering legal counseling, was not arrested and was permitted to leave after roughly 50 seconds.

The Department of Homeland Security said Molina was an "anti-ICE agitator" who "began to drive her car in circles around our ICE officers" and "attempted to harm officers by weaponizing her vehicle against them," and that officers stopped her car and took background information because they feared for their safety; DHS did not say she was arrested or charged. Molina disputed that account and told reporters she has dashcam video contradicting it: "I got recording. I got dashcam." She said the agent's drawn weapon made her fear for her life over what she described as an exercise of her First Amendment right to criticize agents in public.

U.S. Rep. Don Beyer, whose district includes the area, said his office had been in contact with Molina and called the video a "dangerous and unjustified escalation," saying he would demand "answers and consequences." Mason District Supervisor Andres Jimenez called the video "disturbing" and said federal authorities owed residents a full accounting of what happened.
