Ogeechee Circuit DA investigator Andrae Wright used retained Flock, TLO database access to stalk his wife, arrested

On July 27, 2026, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Andrae Wright, 44, of Statesboro, Georgia, and booked him into the Bulloch County Jail on charges of misuse of a license plate reader system, stalking, computer invasion of privacy, and violation of oath of office. At the time of the alleged offenses, Wright was chief investigator for the Ogeechee Circuit District Attorney's Office, a position he had held since January 2025 after a career that included more than a decade in various roles at the Effingham County Sheriff's Office. He had left the Effingham department but still held login access to its Flock Safety automated license-plate- reader system.

The GBI said the Effingham County Sheriff's Office requested the investigation on July 9, 2026, after an internal audit found Wright had accessed its Flock system more than 60 times between June 15 and July 5, 2026, for purposes unrelated to law enforcement. Arrest warrants reported by WTOC put the count at 66 Flock queries and 120 additional queries of the TLO law-enforcement records database, and state that Wright knowingly used the license-plate data to obtain his wife's location. The stalking charge alleges he placed his wife under surveillance without her consent, for the purpose of harassing and intimidating her, by misusing the Flock data; the computer-invasion-of-privacy charge alleges he used a computer to examine his wife's personal data without authorization.

Wright left the Ogeechee Circuit DA's office on July 9, 2026, the same day Effingham's sheriff's office asked the GBI to investigate. In a statement, the DA's office said it "has fully cooperated with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and will continue to do so as requested," and declined further comment while the investigation remains open. The case is part of a wider wave of Flock-misuse cases across Georgia; local reporting counted at least 18 Georgia law-enforcement officers fired or arrested for misusing the Flock system since the beginning of June 2026, several of which are separately recorded in this archive.
